Teaching position Open for 2025-2026
We are hoping to hire an additional teacher to supplement our current staff.
About the Position
WCA is a micro-school which is a hybrid to a one-room schoolhouse approach. For various parts of the day, all students are together. Depending on the subject, however, different ages focus on their own curriculum and assignments. We currently have a teacher for Pre-K to 1st. They spend the majority of the day in a classroom geared to their needs. The main room is for 2nd grade through high school, though the high school and junior high age spend a significant amount of time doing self-paced work. The current main classroom teacher is hoping to spend the majority of his time focusing on those older kids while a new teacher would be focused on instruction for the elementary age (2nd-5th Grade). Last year, about 10 students fell in this group. We are anticipating a similar number for the coming year.
Expectations
Applicants MUST:
-Be a faithful follower of Christ. We are looking for someone who is passionate about service to the Kingdom and will be a strong Christian example for the kids they teach.
-Be good with kids, loving them and treating them as Jesus would. Our goal at WCA is to help our students reach their full potential as a child of God.
-Be able to multitask and navigate various age ranges in a single classroom with kids working on varying assignments at the same time.
-Be flexible and work as a team with fellow teachers. Our non-conventional set-up creates unpredictable needs, so our teachers must be willing to chip in, adapt on short notice, and do what needs to be done.
Requirements
Education:
A bachelors degree is required. Any degree will be considered, not just teaching degrees.
Experience:
Some experience working with kids is needed. All experiences will be taken into account, both formal work experience and life experiences.
