WCA Mission Statement

The Winnsboro Christian Academy seeks to offer a biblically based and well-rounded education to school age children. We desire to provide a wholesome and beneficial learning environment, to promote life skills, heart skills, and head skills, to cultivate a mind which craves learning, and to embody Christlike behaviors, attitudes, and habits.

WCA Vision Statement

At Winnsboro Christian Academy we believe God has given us His vision for how to train and educate our children so we have elected to adopt His vision as given in Deuteronomy 6:4-7.

“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

We are committed to biblical values, but we do not consider kids leverage in a culture war. We want to provide a safe place with healthy boundaries – physical and emotional – for them to be nurtured and challenged in proper measure, avoiding the pitfalls of extremism, toxicity, and indoctrination. We are kid focused, not agenda focused. It is not our goal to either reinforce or oppose hot-button political viewpoints, rather our goal is to help children mature in a stable atmosphere grounded in Christian values so they can grow up into and attain their God-given potential.

Life skills, heart skills, and head skills

We want to responsibly prepare our children to enter the adult world. We focus on character development even as we also strive for academic excellence. We desire to teach financial responsibility, intellectual honesty, applicable life skills, and moral integrity. Above all, we want to help children prioritize and learn the value of the Christian ideals exemplified in scripture.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

A mind which craves learning

Our minds can crave many things: attention, fame, scandals, conspiracies, pleasure, entertainment, comfort, and more. We aspire to train children to use their minds to pursue truth. One of the best gifts we can give to our children is to help them develop a lifelong desire for learning. We hope to inspire curiosity, imagination, and invention while encouraging questions and open-mindedness. We want to teach children the value of truth, and as we do so, the Holy Bible will remain our central and utmost guide. As children grow and mature, hard questions will not be avoided, but we will always rely on the Christian scriptures to help us navigate those hard questions.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Christlike Behaviors, attitudes, and habits

As our slogan states, we want our children to learn at the feet of Jesus. There is no greater teacher or mentor than Him. We have no desire to make small replicas of ourselves and thus perpetuate our flaws and limitations to a new generation. Rather, we want to help guide the children so they grow into replicas of Jesus, tethered only to His goodness, glory, and love.
