Statment of FAith
Winnsboro Christian Academy is open to children of all backgrounds and in various places in their faith journey, however all families seeking to enroll must understand that the entirety of our curriculum, schedule, and events reflect our commitment to the following statements. These beliefs will be focused on and constantly reiterated. Honest questions and discussions are welcomed, but if you are in sharp disagreement with these statements, you would likely do well to pursue the education of your children elsewhere. These core beliefs are the foundation of our Christian faith.
1. One God
We believe there is one God, existing eternally in the holy trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
2. Jesus Christ Our Lord
We believe in the full humanity and the full deity of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death on the cross, His resurrection, and His ascension and promised return. (Matthew 16:16, John 1:14, Matthew 1:23, Hebrews 4:15, John 20:30-31, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:9-11).
3. Salvation
We believe all people need the saving grace of God which is only available in Christ. (Romans 3:23-26)
4. Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved who will live with God throughout all eternity. (1 Corinthians 15:51-55)
5. Holy Spirit
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and offer effective service to God’s kingdom. (Romans 8:9)
6. God's Word
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, reliable, and authoritative Word of God. It is our primary guide and binding standard to be followed. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Other Aspects of Our Beliefs
The following are in no way comprehensive, but for the sake of transparency and forthrightness, we want to also share with you some secondary beliefs which are relevant to our current cultural climate. While these beliefs are secondary, please understand we are completely committed to scripture’s teaching on these subjects (see the 6th statement above).
1. We believe in the sanctity of human life from conception. (Exodus 21:22-23, Genesis 1:27-28, 9:6, Leviticus 18:21)
2. We believe God created marriage as the exclusive, monogamous, covenanted relationship between one man and one woman. This is God’s only design for a healthy and appropriate sexual relationship. (Genesis 2:20-24, Matthew 19:4-6)
3. We believe the homosexual lifestyle and alternative gender identities are contrary to God’s design and teachings. (Leviticus 18:22-23, Romans 1:26-27, Deuteronomy 22:5, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
